The first trip to Kouchi prefecture in my life.My small goal is to perform in every (or," all of "? I am not sure which is right) prefecture in Japan, so I could step forward a bit ! I haven't count how many prefectures are not traveled yet...
Taking Shinkansen (high speed train) from Shin-Osaka to Okayama, then we took Anpanman (Japanese famous animation) train for 2 and half hours to the final destination, Kouchi. On the way, the scenery became gully. This aria is called "Oboke", a funny name which it's pronunciation is same as the word refers to a fool who making jokes in Japanese manzai, a comic dialogue.
Kouchi station is a modern and beautiful wooden architecture. The main street looks more bigger than Tokushima city.A lot of palm trees on the streets and along the river made me feel exotic. We started the concert right after arriving the venue.
After work, a local fiddle player Mr.Mitsutomi took me a tour around the downtown. We went to the Kouchi castle. I didn't know there is a castle in Kouchi.
A picture at the main entrance. Why am I standing stiff ?
The castle tour.
This castle was built by Katsutoyo Yamauchi ,a famous general in Sengoku period (16th c).
However, I haven't seen the TV drama series about him last year, nor know about who he was.
We dined at Hirome food market near from the castle. It's a huge cafeteria, one can choose any favorite foods from many shops and can eat at anywhere in the place. It was so nice and I haven't seen such place even in Osaka. It reminds me of "Makishi public food market" in Okinawa.
Another local flute player, Mr.Kitamura joined us here.We shared
variety of dishes.Famous local bonito is out of season unfortunately,
but it's Tataki (served in lightly roasted) was still very tasty.
To be continued...
